About Obscure Magazine
Focus:
Obscure Magazine is an e-zine created by Michelle Thomas that puts total emphasis on the African American community. This is accomplished by giving a voice to important topics that concern African Americans. Obscure is devoted to ensure quality articles with strong content, positive images and healthy foundations. Family, spirituality, community, health, wealth, news, entertainment and beauty are the primary subject matter of the magazine.
Why Obscure?
The name obscure was selected while looking up synonyms for black. The most interesting thing about all the adjectives listed for black is that all had some negative connotation associated. Obscure was amongst the list. The second definition for obscure is "not readily understood or clearly expressed." This is found to be true regarding some editorials covering the black community, that we are not clearly expressed or misinformed. Obscure magazine will be just the opposite. We are dedicated to bring to the forefront positive images of the Black community in a clear and concise fashion.
Target Audience:
Obscure Magazine intends to target African Americans between the ages of 25 and 45.
